| Well, I ventured out to buy a couple of roses to play with today. I got this off-white rose, and thought it turned out pretty cool...suggestions and improvements anyone? This is such a learning process, and I am so excited to be photographing things again!!! | |

| Wow Tracy, your picking this up very quickly, This is lovely and a beautiful rose. If it were mine I probaly would have left a fraction more on the top, but your choice Tracy. I bet like me though you already have a heap of different crops. :)

| Hope you don't mind Tracy but I had to have a play. Cropped, cloned some damaged petal pieces and Levels before framing and titling. Just for You. |

| Tracy great capture, but it needs a boost in contrast. Bring levels in from the whites a bit. | |

I would submit that there is a close tie between the two, eh? Cause and Effect - or - Effect and Cause. Either way, I'm soooooooo happy for you, T. |

If he did what I think he did - it's a great trick. He may have added a border (as opposed to a frame.) Then, in PSP he could have ticked the "eyedropper" on one of the hues in the image itself to set the border's color. That gives you a "frame" that matches your image perfectly. I do this all the time (sometimes it takes several attempts to select the very best color, but when it's right, you know it!) You can add 1-2 borders (any more looks too busy, and distracts from the image.) The additions move outward, btw. I may set mine at 3.0 pixels, 0.5 pixels, and the final one at 5.0 pixels, with the inside white, then black then white. I'll try to put together a set of illustrations as to color combos for examples, if anyone is interested. Kat |

| You are spot on with the borders Kat. I used the eye dropper to choose a colour from the surface of the Rose then created a border of 10 pixels around the image. The Blak one is 2 inches to make it wide enough for the title. |
