| Apart from the focusing the background is also a bit fussy, big blobs of bright colours attract the eye. |

| Thanks for the feedback. I'm not understanding "soft" I thought the focus was good, so is "soft" something else ?? The background is other dancers in their costumes, how would I fix that...make it less noticable ? | |

| I would agree that the photo needs to be sharper. The composition is wonderful and I wouldn't worry about the background if you have a nice Bokeh and the image is sharp then any background will work for you because the eye is drawn to the sharp image. Always focus on the eyes and make sure you have some nice catch lights. If you want to go with a soft look make sure you have all of the face in the frame and no background or make sure the eyes are sharp the rest of the photo can be soft but the eyes MUST be sharp. I hope I explained that okay.

| A small amount of sharpening and a bit of cloning/makeover tools. I agree with the background idea. Aim for a wider apeture to reduce depth of focus and defocus the background can work really well depending on your lens. I also think you would have got away with it if the little hand near center was sharper but with that out of focus does bring your attention to the problem. As i said befor its a nice picture lots of fun and smiles!! Jono | |
