Beautiful - it captures the stark reality of the New Forest perfectly - wonderful sky saturation / hue. Nicely sharp and composed. Well done buddy! #John

Very nice Stewart, a great all round shot.
Just one question -- How can they call this 'New Forest' ???

Jan - can I help here with this I've cut and pasted from the New Forest web site.....

There can be few other places in England where the ancient landscape has remained so unchanged. In 1079 when William The Conqueror named the area his ‘new hunting forest’, little could he imagine that nearly 1000 years later his ‘Nova Foresta’ would still retain its mystery and romance.

Guess it's a bit old now - but "Old Forest" doesn't ring as well as "New Forest" - don't you agree!

John

Beautiful shot Stewart

New forest, old forest, doesn't look like much of a forest at all to me.

The New Forest is the name of the whole area which is a National Park.

This was taken on the Heath Land which breaks it up a little. Very Happy
