Hmmmm......Are they that bad ??

No they are not Kathy. But .... Lizzy looks absolutely petrified. lol
Couldn't you talk to her, tell her jokes or something to at least crack a smile. lol lol lol

You've done a good job with the pics mate.

Kathy I like the last shot best I think, the last two even, but your clone work is showing bottom left corner. I'm sure you don't see it like it shows up on here.

Jan is spot on about the flaws in the areas mentioned.
You have also got some light spots around the edges of a couple of them.

These sort of shots always benefit from a warm light source and soft focus.

Try to avoid harsh lighting and try and relax your subject before shooting.

The fourth image is the pick of them because she looks relaxed in that one and she is in focus acroos her whole body where in the others she is a liitle soft around the face.

Try adding a fill layer of warm peach and blending in Multiply at around 10% opacity, it might warm them up.

If you don't mind I will have a try at it when on my own puter?

I echo the sentiments above - for me #4 is best for the clarity and focal point.
But if you don't mind me adding - expecting is supposed to be a time of happiness - she looks so sad (perhaps in the knowledge of the labour pains to come??????????) lol ~ John

These are the first shots from the sitting so maybe she was somewhat nervous, but I didn't think petrified. I thought more of "in thought"
I wondered about the cloned area. I took out the tie to her bikini, I left it in one, I wanted to see if you thought it too distracting.
I will be back at them !! I learned again "save as"
I have some shots that I took and I told her to talk to her Baby, I think they are very soulful. She is getting scared now, the doctor told her 2 weeks and he should be coming into the world. Wayne is in Iraq, so he won't be here.

Kathy please tell you friend not to worry, everything will be fine. You can do this without your husband. lol In my day they were not allowed to participate in the birth. We will all be with her in thought. It is sad that the dad won't be there for his sake but I'm sure he will make up for lost time when he gets home.... and you will be able to keep him posted with lots of lovely photos of mum and the baby.
