Hi Diane - great colour and nice dof - hope you don't mind but I 'played' with it and this is a very quick interpretation - tighter crop > sharpened > saturated the wonderful colour you have captured and clarified - not perfect......... hope you are not insulted. Keep up the good work..... your son is learning from you!!!

No Diane - it simply shows how good your shot was and the potential of any shot no matter how good (or bad) with the delight of Photoshop - Paint Shop Pro etc to enhance.

But we must never forget.... it's the person with the camera that sees the opportunity -

--- you saw it...........well captured........

Look at some of the pictures I have had help with from stuart and all the others here. What I have found is that you will like your picture and others will help to find the picture in the picture. And its fun!!

It is good to see you posting images and looking for feedback Diane.

I think the original picture is a little soft and I think that might be because of a combination of aperture used and a breeze.

If you like to take pictures like this it might be a good idea to invest in a framework which you can surround your subject with to cut out any movement because of the weather, growing subjects in pots so you can take them indoors where you can control the surroundings is a good idea too.

You will get all the help and advice you ask for on here but getting a few good books on photography, including one on your favourite genre, will help no end in your understanding of how to take the picture you see in your mind.
