| The Elm I only bought in April, it lost it's leaves for winter and I pruned it back. It is just getting the new growth now. I am amazed how much of it there is. It is only about 1/3rd larger than this pic and sits in the kitchen window. I love it.
The larger one Cathie and family gave me for Mother's day, May 2005. It was called life on a rock. I am going to have to find out about this one, I think it may need a larger pot but the rock is glued in. lol This pot is only about 7 inches long. |

| That one is very hardy Fee, and gets neglected quite often as it is outside on a table under shadecloth.
If you have them inside you need to keep in the coolest place with central heating. Hence my kitchen window. We have gas space heating. I have a spray bottle with a tiny amount of liquid fertilizer in it and spray the foliage about 4 times a day. Let the roots almost dry out before a good water probably 3 days apart. Could be different times in the summer. Trial and error as we have ducted water cooling. So the umbrella tree would be a good one to start with, or Ficus (Rubber tree) or there are some good Pine varieties.
Have a go girl, Start small then it doesn't cost very much. |
