Deer-How can i include both babies to make a better shot

How can I keep both babies in this shot without them looking so far away?

Ok - what a challenge.
First may I say the shot is a tad overexposed effecting the quality - but hey you want Bambi 1 and Bambi 2 looking like closer friends. Nowt wrong with friendship eh!
Looking at both I decided the one to the left (Bambi 1) would be easier to move than the one on the right. (Bambi 2) .The latter has too much green grass around his feet etc.
There is also a wonderful piece of dead ground in the middle of your shot.
Using PSP XI I simply set the clone tool to create a circle large enough to capture Bambi 1 (left) in one go and set the clone area to closer to Bambi 2 (right).
I sharpened, boosted the saturation, boosted the shadows, dodged the Bambi faces and burned the background.
Just my attempt - took 4 mins so it could no doubt be so much better.
