I like the colours and the mountains on this one Griz, but sorry the composition does nothing for me. Maybe if you took 2/3 of the sky away and made a pano type pic it would be fine.

Gotta agree with Jan on this one Griz. Great colours and shape from the moutains but overall the shot sadly looks a tad flat.
Jans idea of a pano gave me an idea and (hoping you don't mind) I had a dabble with the photo.
I simply cropped to pano size, sharpen more x1, and reduced brightness by 5 notches.

Nice job John!
The only thing I don't like is you've lost the Aspen glow, the salmon color is really what the mountain looks like in the morning light.
I like the pano effect and you're right the pic really does need more contrast.

thanks for your comments
And Jan I like the new avitar, nice smile!

I like the color of the mountains...yep that's how they look in the early morning hours :) It's a shame there were no clouds in the sky to give the sky some contrast !!

John - i just played quickly to see what Jans idea could look like. I see what you mean about the 'aspen glow' - that would be easy to rectify.

Glad you like th epano effect - I certainly thought it added something to the presentation.

Take care over there

John
