A very nice rose Sharon, but if it were mine I would sharpen it a bit more.

Love the rain drop and the setting is great.

Sharon! Try this.

Open image > adjust > Brightness & Contrast > Clarify.

It will give you two copies of the pic, the right hand one will change.
At the bottom you have a dropdown box and a choice of depth of alteration of 1 - 5.

Cheers Jan

The composition is fine but as Jan says a bit out of focus Sharon.

Have you tried manually focusing on the centre of the flower and then taking it?

I would also get a background that doesn't reflect so much light as the one used here is showing creasing and is a little distracting thus spoiling the look of the pic a bit.

Black velvet or velour would be better and well back from the subject. :)

couldn't find that option Jan but did a quick smart sharpen and a levels on the black background to make those creases disappear, what do you think now?

Much better - how did you end up sharpening it, Sharon?? I pulled it into Elements and had a quick play with a High Pass filter, set to soft light with a second high pass filter set to vivid light over the top, and it came up a little over sharp, and I didn't have time to fine tune it there and then... this is a nice result overall, especially considering how soft the original was...

Thanks Stuart, i just did a smart sharpen, first i duplicated the image, did the sharpen, clicked on the snapshot icon, made the snapshot the history brush image to use and then clicked on where i had made the duplicate layer, last but not least i used the history brush to go over the flower in the places i thought most imporant and left out the background and leaves as this seems to be where it over sharpens most, for the background i used select colour, feathered it by 25% and used levels to darken to an even black Very Happy
