I really like the way the tree stands out against the background - I guess in the original the DOF was spot on?
Awesome contrasts and a wonderful comp with the tree creating a nice diagonal.

Thanks John, the only thing done to this was a BW conversion on a duplicate layer, pushing the red channel up slightly and the blue down and a boost in the contrast to get the harsh look then chose the 'colour' blend mode at 100% opacity to merge the two layers.

Oh and I cloned out a fuzzy bird (no not Sharon). The Barren Waste 537381

I just converted to BW in Channel Mixer with the sliders at

red +200

Green +100

Blue -200

Then sharpened using Unsharp mask. Very Happy
