| I was out in my Mother-in-laws yard taking photos just minding my own business, when my mother-in-law said to me, "Watch out there is a hawk above you on the tree limb, getting ready to ponce on you". As I slowly turned to see her, I turn a little further and looked up and above my head with a curious look on his face was a juvenile hawk watching me intensely. I went to take his picture but I had my lens on Macro and by the time I switched it over, he flew away. So he didn't get his meal and I didn't get the shot.

| Great story Robin!! I've heard of hawks snapping up small purse pooches...but, never trying to make off with a full grown person!!
Excellent picture....great clarity and color. I really like the veins that come out from the center.

| Super story and wonderful capture - like Terri I like the veins, they add real character (Indeed I can go home tonight and stun Linda by telling her the blue flowers she recently planted are called Pentunias....... she probably knows already but it will stun her that I do also!!!) John | |

| Don't be too quick to tell her its a Petunia John, as she may tell you its not...
Do a google images on Petunia and you will see why...
Google viola or pansy and then tell her.

| Thanks guys for looking. As first glance to the hawk I was scared, he was about 5 1/2 to 6 feet above me. As for the flower - I don't know names and species unless I ask my Mother-in-Law or Jan.
But Jono is right is it a Pansy. I will fix it the title. | |
