Well........it's rare for me to miss a photo and not comment in some way - but I sure as hell seem to have missed this one. Sorry Jan.

I really like #2 - tall and slim (like me............. yea right ...ok!! Tuber Rose 39826 ) the light brown background works well against the white although I wonder if a wee bit of that wonderful PSP Clarify tool might bring out the detail some more. Tuber Rose 33859

I have already used clarify a little, I will try some more and see what happens.
I'm still having trouble getting pics as sharp as I would like.
Which lens did you use for the red rose, that is superb.
Thanks for commenting John.

Well John! I tried several things from this one and the original.

This one was then oversharpened.

I think I need to go and take some more shots lol.

Oh! Jan........My 24x70 f2.8L is almost welded to my camera - I simply love it and that is the one I used for the rose shot. However I use a tripod 90% of the time nowadays to ensure spot on sharpness. That enables me to keep to ISO 100 thus avoiding too much noise. Your 50mm f1.8 or indeed you 100mm f2.8 should be a marvelous lens for this type of shot. But as Robin has told me time and time again it's practice, practice & yet more practice.
Take care down there - best wishes from the UK

Hey thanks John and Sharon, glad your back on now Sharon.
I did use a tripod John and the 100 macro lens.
I have decided Jan is just too dumb. Can't remember anything....settings... which lens I used for the last good shot....etc,etc,etc, I just should make notes.
