Wow! Kathy these are all great shots, but #3 and #4 are superb.

Looks like those settings worked best.
You are doing so well.

Kudos to you both for all the work you do together. :-)

Hey.......good progress Kathy - like Jan I think #3 and #4 are spot on - clearly using ISO100 (instead of 400 in the first two) must have helped????

Keep up the good work.
John Very Happy

Nice work Kathy.

Get yourself a 18% Grey Card and set it in the same light as your subject and take a meter reading from that then lock the reading with you AE Lock.
With Auto White Balance on it should set the correct light temperature and exposure then it is just a matter of getting the composition you want from the model. Very Happy

Stewart, I'm not sure what you mean by....

Get yourself a 18% Grey Card and set it in the same light as your subject and take a meter reading from that then lock the reading with you AE Lock.

Kathy,

Stewart is so correct in his advice.........

Read the "Custom White Balance" page in your camera handbook. It tells you how to set the white balance for the location you are shooting. Using a light grey (about 18% grey) is an ideal colour for the camera to identify.

Once you have set the Custom White Balance you can lock it in using the AE lock - again there is a small but specific piece of info in the Camera Handbook.

Good luck - happy snappin'

John
